The recipe of the month!

Caramelized poppy seed cake with apple slices

For 4 persons

Schmarren:
80 g flour
½ TL Baking powder
½ tsp vanilla sugar
15 g poppy seed
100 ml milk
2 eggs
½ tablespoons of sugar
10 g butter for baking
Sugar for sprinkling

Apple slices:
2 Golden Delicius
20 g butter

Preparation

Apple slices:
Core the apples and cut them into slices. In a small saucepan, steam the sugar with a tablespoon of water and cover the apple slices for a few minutes.

Schmarren:
Mix flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Stir in the milk with a whisk and add the poppy seeds. Beat the eggs and separate the egg yolks and egg whites. Stir the egg yolk into the dough. Whip the egg whites with the sugar and then fold it into the dough.
Heat the frying pan, melt the butter and bake the dough on both sides until it has turned colour. Cut into pieces with a spatula, sprinkle in the sugar and let it caramelize slightly on the fire.

Serve:
Serve the Schmarren with the slices of apple with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
